Ron Bath's journey in the world of armwrestling began on February 15, 1962, in Wabeno, WI. He was the fifth of eight children, growing up on a small family farm with six brothers and one sister, born to James and Barbara Bath. Ron's childhood involved playing various sports in high school, including basketball, wrestling, and football, where he experienced some of his most memorable moments.
Following high school, Ron delved into masonry construction, working for his father's company. He also spent winters logging when construction was on hold. In 1985, Ron married Cindy, gaining a stepdaughter, Nicole. Shortly after their wedding, they relocated to Georgia to work for a family friend's construction business. The couple has since welcomed three sons: Ryan (17), Josh (9), and Matt (7). Ron now resides in Canton, GA, where he manages his own construction company.
While Ron enjoys various sports and coaching his sons' activities, his greatest success has come in the realm of armwrestling. Introduced to the sport around the age of 15, witnessing legendary figures like Johnny Walker on Wide World of Sports, Ron discovered his natural aptitude for armwrestling during a high school phy ed. class tournament. His first true competition took place in the fall of 1980 near his home, marking the beginning of a successful armwrestling journey throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
Over the next five years, Ron established himself as a dominant force in armwrestling, frequently winning competitions in the region. Trips to Chicago exposed him to the sport's elite, including Cleve Dean, Dave Patton, Bert Whitfield, and the opportunity to compete against Johnny Walker. Little did Ron know that in a few years, he would be living in their backyard, contributing to his remarkable story in the world of armwrestling.
