Two sessions into the 2025 Nike Girls EYBL season, the national picture is beginning to take shape — and a few teams are separating themselves from the rest. With events in Houston, TX and Hoover, AL, elite programs from across the country have already faced off in high-stakes matchups that preview what’s to come in July.

And while the season is far from over, Cy Fair and All Iowa Attack are making early cases as the teams to beat in 17U, while Missouri Phenom leads a competitive and crowded 16U field.

17U: Two Unbeatens Rise — Cy Fair and All Iowa Attack

Both Cy Fair (Houston, TX) and All Iowa Attack (Iowa) sit atop the 17U standings with perfect 10–0 records through the first two sessions. Each team has demonstrated consistency, depth, and toughness against top-tier competition.

Cy Fair holds a narrow edge statistically, with a +117 point differential, compared to All Iowa’s +106. In a format where margin matters, Cy Fair has flexed its strength on both ends of the floor.

Cy Fair Standouts:

  • Chikae Desdunes

  • Maryiah Alfred

17U Contenders: One-Loss Teams Making Noise

Two other programs sit just behind the undefeated leaders at 9–1 — Team Takeover and Cal Stars — and both have proven they belong in the national title conversation.

  • Team Takeover’s lone loss came in a thrilling 2-point game against a stacked Miami Suns squad.

  • Cal Stars also dropped just one game — a tight 2-point battle with Boo Williams.

 Looking Ahead to Session 3

As the calendar shifts toward the heart of EYBL season, the landscape is beginning to crystalize. In 17U, Cy Fair and All Iowa Attack may be unbeaten, but the margin is razor thin — and one game can change everything. Meanwhile, one-loss teams like Team Takeover, Cal Stars, and Miami Suns are more than capable of shaking up the bracket.

In 16U, Missouri Phenom and Team Prime Nation have the momentum, but the field is wide open. With nearly a dozen teams still in realistic contention, Session 3 is poised to be the most competitive yet.
