Tavon Austin, the electrifying wide receiver and return specialist, officially announced his retirement from the NFL on August 13, 2024, via an emotional Instagram post. Austin, 34, who was known for his speed and versatility, spent ten seasons in the NFL after being drafted eighth overall by the St. Louis Rams in 2013.

Austin's NFL career was marked by his unique ability to impact the game as a receiver, runner, and returner. Over his career, he accumulated 2,239 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, along with 1,361 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Additionally, he made a significant impact on special teams, recording 1,483 kickoff return yards and 451 punt return yards, including three punt return touchdowns during his first three seasons with the Rams.

After spending five seasons with the Rams, Austin played for the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Jacksonville Jaguars. His final NFL season came in 2021 with the Jaguars, where he recorded 24 receptions for 213 yards and one touchdown.
