Tyrese Haliburton revealed at Fanatics Fest and then expanded on the Pat McAfee Show that he texted LeBron James a recruitment pitch for the Indiana Pacers, received what he initially believed were two laughing-crying emojis in response, and then checked his phone after the live interview and discovered it was actually six. "I decided from that point on, I'm done pursuing him in free agency," Haliburton said. The story unfolded during a live Mind the Game episode at Fanatics Fest where Haliburton served as James's guest co-host and made multiple attempts to get the 41-year-old superstar to reveal his free agency decision. James deflected every question, declined every direct ask, and apparently told Haliburton everything he needed to know about Indiana's chances three weeks ago in the form of six emojis.
