Daniel Zhang, a current member of the Harvard fencing team, has exhibited remarkable talent and dedication in the sport. Having earned a spot on the National Cadet Team in both 2020 and 2021, Daniel's fencing journey continued as he fenced with the Junior National Team in 2021, 2022, and 2023. His achievements include capturing a prestigious gold medal at the Cadet World Championships in 2021, showcasing his prowess on the international stage. Daniel's success extends to team competitions, where he secured a team title in junior men's foil in 2023 and a silver medal in 2021 at the Junior World Championships. In addition to his team accomplishments, Daniel claimed an individual junior national title in 2019 at the Junior Olympics, demonstrating his proficiency in solo competition. On the club level, he competed for Star Fencing Academy, further honing his skills. Daniel Zhang's excellence goes beyond the fencing strip. He has been recognized for his academic achievements, earning a place on the USA Fencing All-Academic Team from 2020 to 2023.
