Florida Nation's 16U group played five games in Cincinnati and gave evaluators a good look at what this roster can do. There is a legitimate lead scorer here, a defensive presence who is years younger than everyone she guards, and a group of contributors who each showed something worth tracking.

Here is who to watch this weekend.

The Top 5

1. TJ Laing-Ariche, #22

Cincinnati: 13.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 spg, 1.0 bpg

Laing-Ariche was the best player on the floor for Florida Nation all weekend. She scored 25 against No Limits, put up 15 and 8 against Crossfire, and finished with 12 in both games on the last day. Five games, double figures every time.

She scores at the rim and in transition, and she gets to the line. The defensive numbers stand out too. Eight steals and five blocks in five games from a guard means she is not taking possessions off.

She averaged 13.7 in the April session, so this is not a one-weekend run. She has been the go-to scorer on this roster all spring and summer, and she has produced against every level of competition the circuit has put in front of her. Coaches recruiting this age group should have her circled.

2. Armani McFadden, #1

Class of 2032, 7th grade Cincinnati: 7.0 rpg, 4.8 ppg, 2.2 spg, 1.6 apg, 1.4 bpg

Start with the age. McFadden is a seventh grader playing up against 16U competition, and she led the team in rebounds, steals, and blocks. That is not a typo and it is not a small sample. Five games, best on the roster in all three categories, against players three and four years older.

Pull the Crossfire tape. She went for 9 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Two games later she blocked four shots against Empire State. A player who leads a team in both steals and blocks is covering a lot of ground, and she is doing it against bigger, stronger, more experienced opponents.

Against Team Pennsylvania she scored one point and handed out four assists. She plays inside the offense and lets the game come to her, which is rare at any age and unusual at twelve or thirteen.

The scoring will arrive on its own as she grows into the level. What she already has is the part that cannot be taught. She reads plays early, she competes on every possession, and she guards multiple spots. This is the most intriguing long-term prospect on the roster by a wide margin.

3. Emani Joseph, #7

Cincinnati: 6.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.4 spg

Joseph saved her best for last, scoring 12 against Empire State to close the weekend. She hit 8 points twice before that, so she reached or approached double figures in three of five games.

She jumps passing lanes well. Seven steals in five games without being the primary defender says she is reading the ball, not guessing. She rebounds well for a guard at 3.2, and she has been willing to take on tough defensive assignments.

The arrow is pointing up. Her best game came last, and that is usually a sign a player is settling in against circuit competition rather than wearing down.

4. Carly Lewis, #15

Cincinnati: 4.2 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.2 spg

Lewis opened the weekend with 12 points against Team Pennsylvania and showed she can carry a scoring load when the offense runs through her.

She contributes in every category. She led the rotation in assists per game, blocked four shots on the weekend, and had multiple games with two or more steals. That is a player who finds ways to help whether or not the shots are falling.

The 12-point opener is what she is capable of when she gets touches. Watch what she does with a bigger offensive role this weekend.

5. Rachael Luis, #12

April session: 9.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.0 bpg, 1.7 spg

Luis does not show up in the Cincinnati box scores, so this is off the April session. Worth including anyway, because those were the best all-around numbers anybody on this roster put up.

She scored 12 against Start to Finish and 10 against Northwest United. Against Playmakers she grabbed 12 rebounds with 6 points, 2 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. She blocked exactly two shots in all three games, which is the kind of consistency that shows up on tape as timing rather than luck.

If she plays this weekend she is the best rebounder on this team and one of the best two-way players on the roster. Check her status before the first game.

The Rest of the Roster

Nikki Maxenat, #23. Averaged 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in Cincinnati. Opened with 7 against Always 100 and grabbed 6 rebounds against Empire State in a game where she did not score, which tells you she keeps working when shots are not going down. Her production has held steady across both sessions and she competes on the glass every night. Watch Nikki's Game Tape Here

Demorah, #34. Played all five games and finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Best night was 4 rebounds against Empire State. She showed up in every box score of the weekend, which is exactly what you want from a player earning her minutes. Dependable role player with room to grow into more. Watch Demorah's Game Tape Here

Jade Yacinthe, #3. Saw limited action in Cincinnati. April is the better sample: 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in three games, including back-to-back nights of 7 points and 4 rebounds. That is real production, and with a longer runway this weekend she has shown she can put up those numbers again. Watch Jade's Game Tape Here

Kimora Marseille, #16. Averaged 2.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in April, but the line to look at is the Playmakers game: four blocked shots to go with 5 points and 3 rebounds. Daija Thomas, #32. No statistical record in either session was reviewed.
