Three months ago the WTA Finals lost their home. Now they have a name on the door. The WTA announced Tuesday that Greek yogurt brand Fage is the title partner of its season-ending championship through 2029, according to the WTA's announcement.
The event becomes the Fage WTA Finals Indian Wells this year, November 8 to 15 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California. From 2027 it moves to Charlotte, North Carolina, as the Fage WTA Finals Charlotte. Fage also becomes the tour's official yogurt partner. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Why the WTA Finals Needed a Sponsor Fast
The WTA's three-year deal to stage the Finals in Riyadh ended a season early, as the tour announced in July, which left it hunting for a 2026 title partner on a short clock. SportsPro reported that the deal came together in "record time," with Fage pushing for a long-term agreement after the WTA first floated a one-year package.
The money gap is real. SportsPro says the Saudi deal paid a record $15.5 million in prize money and that this year's pot is understood to drop to about $10 million. It also cited a Telegraph report from September that projected a 2026 operating loss of $23 million for the WTA.
Fage's Tennis Portfolio and the Charlotte Move
Fage isn't new to the sport. It already sponsors the US Open, the ATP Finals, the Davis Cup and the BNP Paribas Open, which is also played at Indian Wells, per SportsPro. The deal was brokered by THE TEAM, the WTA Ventures sales agency, working with Sportfive, and Sportcal also reported the agreement.
WTA chair Valerie Camillo set a big target, saying the tour wants the Finals to be "the Super Bowl of women's sports." The Charlotte years will run on a shorter clock, cut from eight days to five, per SportsPro. It's the Finals' first multi-year run in the United States since Los Angeles hosted from 2002 to 2005.
