Ruby Ihmels finished the North Dakota Class A girls cross country race on Saturday in 16 minutes, 50 seconds. The next runner crossed in 18:25. The Bismarck Century senior won her third straight state title in Jamestown, and she did it by 1 minute and 35 seconds, according to results posted by KFYR.

That margin is the number that explains her season: at the one meet every runner points toward, nobody was within a minute and a half of her. Cambree Moss of Williston was the runner-up, Hayva Weisbeck of Mandan was third in 18:31, and Brenly Vigness of Williston was fourth in 18:37.

Faster Every Year at State

Ihmels has won this race three years running, and her time has dropped each time. She won as a sophomore in 2024 in 17:28, per the Jamestown Sun, and as a junior in 2025 in 17:06.9, per InForum. Saturday's 16:50 was her quickest state-meet finish. She came in with a season best of 16:45.3, which InForum reported was the top time in the state and 15th in the country.

KFYR noted she is the third girl in NDHSAA Class A history to win three straight individual titles. Before moving to North Dakota, she won an Idaho 5A state title in 2023, the Jamestown Sun reported.

Century Swept Both Team Titles

Bismarck Century won the girls team title with 33 points, well clear of Williston's 99, and teammate Summer Olson finished fifth in 18:43. The Century boys won too, 35 points to Fargo Davies' 47, while Davies senior Luka Rout took the boys individual title in 15:13.

InForum reported before the meet that Ihmels is uncommitted. The results are from KFYR and the Jamestown Sun, with her season best from InForum. More on our cross country page.
