Two of the best numbers in Georgia high school football meet on Friday, Oct. 30. Thomas County Central scores 54.2 points a game. Coffee allows 10.2. The unbeaten Yellow Jackets, No. 12 in the MaxPreps national rankings, travel to Douglas to play the Trojans, and No. 10 Carrollton has a home date of its own the same night.
Thomas County Central (8-0) at Coffee (7-1)
Thomas County Central has outscored opponents 434-90, per MaxPreps data pulled through Parse, and has not been held under 35 points. The Yellow Jackets put up 63 on Tift County in their last game on Oct. 16, then had a week off while Georgia played Friday. They moved up one spot in the latest MaxPreps national poll.
Coffee is 7-1 with 270 points scored and 82 allowed, and High School On SI ranked the Trojans No. 20 in its Georgia top 25 (Thomas County Central was No. 4). Coffee's defense has allowed 82 points in eight games, so something gives on Friday night. After this game, Thomas County Central visits Northside of Warner Robins on Nov. 5.
East Coweta (5-3) at Carrollton (9-0)
Carrollton kept rolling Friday with a 66-27 win at Westlake, its ninth straight. The Trojans now average 57.4 points while allowing 13.8, with 517 points scored and 124 allowed, and have scored at least 49 in eight of nine games. Their closest game was a 38-7 win over Archer.
East Coweta brings a 5-3 record, 32.5 points a game and 23.1 allowed.
