Argentina has an impressive Olympic history, having amassed over 70 medals in the Summer Olympic Games. Notably, they've excelled in boxing, securing more medals in this sport than any other country. Facundo Conte, an Argentine professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter, made his mark at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, clinching a bronze medal. In the realm of rugby sevens, Marcos Moneta, representing Argentina at the 2020 Summer Olympics, earned distinction. He played a crucial role in securing Argentina's first-ever Olympic medal in rugby sevens by defeating Great Britain 17-12 in the third-place match. Moneta's performance earned him the prestigious title of World Rugby's Men's Sevens Player of the Year for 2021. Shifting to field hockey, the Argentina national field hockey team had a significant breakthrough at the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning the gold medal by defeating Belgium 4–2. This historic victory marked the first time an Argentine national hockey team had secured Olympic gold. The women's team also displayed their prowess by achieving a second-place finish at the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo.
