The Auckland Tuatara were the first to capitalize and score the first run of the game during the top of the second inning, with Matt Feinstein hitting a solo home run and putting the Tuatara up 1 – 0. The Giants made two notable double plays in the third and fourth inning. The first was a groundball hit to Rixon Wingrove (1B) and then thrown to Michael Martinez to get the out at second. The second DP was another groundball hit to Nick Ward (2B) and thrown to Lyle Lin (1B) to get the two outs. Then, in the top of the sixth, Greg Cullen followed up by slamming another solo home run for the Tuatara to right field, extending their lead to 2 – 0. The Bottom of the ninth was tense, with bases loaded and no outs, it looked like the perfect opportunity for the Adelaide Giants to make a comeback. However, the Tuatara managed to shut them out with a popup to shortstop and 2 strikeouts for the final two outs by Jason Blanchard, sealing the Game 2 win for the Tuatara. The Adelaide Giants had numerous occasions where their runners were in scoring position prior to this inning (bottom of the 3rd and bottom of the 7th) but were unable to capitalize. The Tuatara finished with a combined total of 9 hits, two hits by Jax Biggers, Matt Feinstein and Greg Cullen, and a solo home run by Matt Feinstein and Greg Cullen.
