In a masterclass performance at Madison Square Garden, Shakur Stevenson outboxed Teofimo Lopez to earn a near-shutout unanimous decision and capture the WBO Super Lightweight Championship.
With the victory, Stevenson becomes just the 25th fighter in boxing history to win world titles in four different weight divisions, further solidifying his place among the sport’s elite. From precise counterpunching to flawless defense, Stevenson controlled the pace from the opening bell and left no doubt on the judges’ scorecards.
Teofimo Lopez showed heart and toughness, but was unable to solve Stevenson’s timing and ring IQ throughout the bout. The historic win marks a major milestone in Stevenson’s career and reshapes the landscape of the super lightweight division.
