The biggest independent grassroots basketball circuit in the country just signed a YouTuber. MADE Hoops announced a partnership with creator Cam Wilder and his Rod Wave Elite program, and the first thing they are building together is a camp: Fear the Future, a Halloween-themed event on Saturday, October 24 at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Pennsylvania, open to players in grades 6 through 12.

The format is 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, skill instruction and player development sessions with Wilder and guests, plus custom Fear the Future jerseys and collaborative merchandise. MADE founder and CEO Chad Babel told Youth Sports Business Report there would be "a few surprises throughout the event." Pricing was not disclosed; registration runs through madehoops.com.

Why MADE Hoops Is Betting on a Creator

Rod Wave Elite started in 2023 as a content team, a roster built as much for the camera as for the scoreboard, and it has played in MADE tournaments for several years. Babel framed the partnership as a read on how young players consume the game now: they follow creators and communities as closely as they follow NBA players. "The Fear the Future Camp is really just the starting point," he said, describing a longer plan that mixes live events with original content.

MADE has the infrastructure to back that up. The company runs more than 125 boys' and girls' events a year for over 100,000 athletes ages 10 to 18, and this year took its first outside investment in 12 years from a group that includes SC Holdings, LRMR Ventures, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Paolo Banchero. The money is earmarked for a nonprofit foundation and a player development center in New York City.

How This Fits the New Shape of Youth Basketball

BallerTube has been tracking the blur between high school ball, the shoe circuits and media-first programs all fall, from whether high school basketball is starting to look like AAU to the arrival of the Atlas League. A creator-run team partnering with a national circuit is the same trend from the other direction: the audience comes first, and the competition is built around it.

For players, the practical upside is reach. A clip from a MADE event or a Wilder camp travels further than a box score, and that exposure is now part of the recruiting conversation whether coaches like it or not.

What to Know Before Oct. 24

Spooky Nook bills itself as the largest indoor sports complex in North America, and it already hosts MADE's East HSA camp the same weekend, so expect a full building. Families should confirm the session times and grade groupings when they register. Both sides have said they view the camp as a test for more events and content together.

Keep up with circuit news on BallerTube's grassroots basketball page and the Shoe Circuit channel, and tag your camp highlights with MADE Hoops so coaches can find them.
