Denver Summit FC put seven shots on target against Racing Louisville on Saturday. Six went in. The 6-1 win at Centennial Stadium was the kind of finishing night that rarely happens twice, and it came with Janine Sonis setting up the first two goals.

Denver improved to 11-8-10 with 41 points, 10th in the NWSL table and one point behind ninth-place North Carolina, per ESPN's standings. Louisville fell to 7-3-19. The crowd was 12,372.

Natasha Flint Scored Twice, Janine Sonis Set Up Two

Natasha Flint opened the scoring in the 19th minute, a left-footed shot into the top right corner off a Sonis pass. Sonis then delivered the set-piece cross that Kaleigh Kurtz headed in during first-half stoppage time for 2-0.

The second half went quickly. Melissa Kossler scored in the 59th minute, Lindsey Heaps headed in Natalie Means' cross in the 66th, and Flint finished a fast break from Kossler two minutes later for 5-0. Taylor White answered for Louisville in the 79th, and Yazmeen Ryan, who assisted Kossler's goal, closed it with a shot from outside the box in the 81st.

Louisville Managed One Shot on Target

Denver held 59.6 percent of possession and outshot Louisville 20-6. Louisville's only shot on target was White's goal, so Denver's goalkeeper never had to make a save, per ESPN's match stats.

Denver plays at the North Carolina Courage on Sunday, Nov. 1, a direct meeting with the team one point ahead of it. Full numbers are in the ESPN match report. More on our NWSL page.
