Shaneika Maxenat has a high ceiling because of the combination of size, athleticism, and guard ability she brings to the floor. At 6’1”, Nikki can handle the ball and create her own shot, giving her the tools to be a difficult matchup. At the Preps Nation Elite 20 event, she showed a smooth pull-up jumper off the dribble and, when locked in, the ability to get to her spots with ease.
I’d like to see Maxenat demand the ball more, communicate more on the court, and use her size to crash the boards. Those are areas where she can make a bigger impact without changing the skills she already has.
Maxenat is still a sophomore with plenty of basketball ahead of her. As she becomes more assertive, her size and athleticism give her the potential to affect the game in many ways at a very high level.
