Minnesota scored four goals Friday night, and Kirill Kaprizov had his stick on every one of them. He scored the first and assisted on the next three as the Wild beat San Jose 4-1.
The Minnesota Wild improved to 12-3-3 with the win over the San Jose Sharks at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, according to the ESPN box score. San Jose fell to 7-10-1.
Kaprizov's 16th Goal and Three Helpers
Kaprizov opened the scoring on a power-play snap shot at 7:55 of the first period, his 16th goal of the season. After Macklin Celebrini tipped in his seventh to tie it in the second, Kaprizov set up Maxim Shabanov's power-play tip-in at 14:15, then assisted on Quinn Hughes's wrist shot and Zach Bogosian's slap shot in the third. It was Bogosian's first goal of the season. Kaprizov finished with four points on three shots.
Quinn Hughes Logged 31 Minutes
Hughes played 31:00, more than anyone on either team, and had a goal and two assists. Minnesota went 2 for 5 on the power play and San Jose went 0 for 3. In goal, Jesper Wallstedt stopped 23 of 24 shots, a .958 save percentage. Yaroslav Askarov made 25 saves on 29 shots for the Sharks. The Wild also out-hit San Jose 29-17. Celebrini, held to his one goal, played 24:59 and took 16 of his 28 faceoffs, but the Sharks had nothing on the power play.
Saturday Back-to-Backs for Both Teams
