Mission Viejo has scored 432 points in nine games, 48 a game. Its first playoff opponent has allowed 61 points all season. That is the matchup that stands out when the CIF Southern Section Division 1 bracket opens on Friday, Nov. 13, with all four quarterfinals at the higher seed.

The bracket is in the High School On SI playoff guide and the pairings from High School Football America. National ranks and records below are from the MaxPreps Top 25 and team data read through BallerTube's Parse feed.

Mission Viejo (8-1) at No. 4 Sierra Canyon (10-0)

Sierra Canyon, the No. 2 seed and No. 4 in the country, has scored 447 points and allowed 61 (44.7 and 6.1 per game). Four of its 10 wins were shutouts, and the Trailblazers have given up more than 10 points once, in a 42-21 opener at JSerra. They also beat Chaminade-Madonna of Florida, now No. 17 nationally, 24-7 and Orange Lutheran 28-10. Mission Viejo allows 21.1 a game, so something gives.

San Clemente at No. 2 Santa Margarita (10-0)

The top seed won its first outright Trinity League title and is the reigning CIF Open Division champion. Its only one-score game all year was a 21-20 win over Centennial in August.

Centennial (7-3) at Mater Dei (8-2)

The only quarterfinal between two MaxPreps Top 25 teams: Mater Dei is No. 13 after jumping five spots, Centennial No. 24. Mater Dei comes in off a 36-35 win over St. John Bosco that ended on a two-point conversion.

Orange Lutheran (5-5) at St. John Bosco (7-3)

Bosco, No. 20 nationally, gets the at-large Lancers, who have lost to Sierra Canyon, Mater Dei (52-38) and Santa Margarita (43-21). All four games kick off at 7 p.m. Results land on BallerTube's high school football page.
