At 6’2, Jacksonville forward Tonya Young brought a strong presence to the Preps Nation Elite 20 Showcase. She rebounded, ran the floor and showed the confidence to put the ball on the floor from around 15 feet. Her size and athleticism make her a useful option in pick and roll sets, particularly when a smaller defender gets caught on a switch.
Young has the physical tools to project high major at the next level as a 2030 prospect. The next step is polishing her offensive game: extending her shooting range and turning those face-up opportunities into strong drives to the basket. As those skills develop, she’ll become an even tougher matchup.
