Ben Williamson came off the bench to hit for Victor Mesa Jr. with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th inning on Tuesday night. He lined a single to right, Nick Fortes scored, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 to stay alive in the World Series.

Milwaukee still leads the series 3-1 after the loss in front of 40,514 at Tropicana Field. The Brewers went 103-59 in the regular season and the Rays went 98-64.

Cooper Pratt's 4-for-5 Night and a 396-Foot Homer Nearly Ended It

The Brewers were three outs from the title because of Cooper Pratt. He doubled in Sal Frelick in the fourth, then led off the 12th with a 396-foot home run to left center off Ian Seymour for a 3-2 lead, per ESPN's play log. Pratt finished 4 for 5 with two RBIs. David Hamilton added a solo homer in the fifth.

Both bullpens had been close to perfect before that. Milwaukee's relievers after starter Dustin May (JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe, DL Hall, Trevor Megill and Aaron Ashby) threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings and allowed two hits. Tampa Bay's first five relievers covered seven scoreless innings on two hits after Griffin Jax struck out six in four innings.

How the Rays Scored Twice in the Bottom of the 12th

Junior Caminero reached on a throwing error by third baseman Joey Ortiz, and Liam Hicks singled him to third off Shane Drohan. Jonny DeLuca's single scored pinch runner Cedric Mullins to tie it, Chandler Simpson singled to load the bases, and Williamson finished it. Simpson went 3 for 5 and also doubled in DeLuca in the second inning. Jackson Chourio doubled in the top of the 12th but was stranded.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at Tropicana Field, with the Brewers still one win from the championship. Every number above is in the ESPN box score. Follow the series on our World Series page.
