Midge Purce and Tierna Davidson Scored on Gotham's Few Chances
Gotham did not need many looks. Midge Purce headed in a Guro Reiten cross in the 22nd minute, and center back Tierna Davidson scored from close range off a corner in the 62nd. Gotham put six of its nine shots on target, per ESPN's match stats, and held 60 percent of the ball.
Davidson also completed 73 passes, the most of anyone on the field. As a team, Gotham completed 441 of 544 passes to Orlando's 275 of 365.
Solai Washington Scored, Then Berger Shut It Down
Orlando pulled one back three minutes after Davidson's goal, when Solai Washington finished from the center of the box. Washington led the Pride with five shots. Orlando also won just one corner to Gotham's four, and Pride goalkeeper Cosette Morche made three saves at the other end. Berger handled everything else, and Hailie Mace was credited with 15 defensive interventions for Orlando in the loss.
